“Ohioans deserve to have an experienced, driven team helping me tackle challenges and find solutions that work for Ohio and America. I’m thankful to have these trusted advisors working alongside me in our nation’s capital and at home.”

WASHINGTON – Sen. Jon Husted (R-Ohio) today announced senior members of his Senate team.

With more than a decade of service in the legislative branch, Rebecca Card Angelson will lead Husted’s office as chief of staff. Joshua Eck will once again play a key part of Husted’s team, now as state director. Husted names Jess Andrews his deputy chief of staff. Sean Dunn will serve as senior advisor and counsel. Maggie Ward has been tapped to become his legislative director, and Katie Tomko will be his director of operations and administration.

“Ohioans deserve to have an experienced, driven team helping me tackle challenges and find solutions that work for Ohio and America. I’m thankful to have these trusted advisors working alongside me in our nation’s capital and at home,” said Husted.

Angelson leads Husted’s office after serving as chief of staff for Rep. Bob Latta (R-Ohio), where she was his lead communications and policy advisor and oversaw all political and campaign activities. Her breadth of experience includes roles as communications director and campaign strategist for former U.S. Representative Susan W. Brooks (R-Ind.) and on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. With campaign and political media expertise, Angelson worked at the 2012 and 2016 Republican National Conventions as well as on a presidential campaign. A graduate of Boston College, Angelson got her start in politics as an intern in former Speaker John Boehner’s leadership office.

Eck most recently served as Vice President for Marketing and Communications at JobsOhio after several years as spokesman, communications director and chief of staff to Husted during his terms as Ohio’s secretary of state and lieutenant governor. He was chief spokesman for Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s successful 2018 gubernatorial race after beginning his career in the Ohio General Assembly as legislative aide to then-State Sen. Troy Balderson (R-Ohio) and eventually as press secretary for the Ohio Senate Majority Caucus. He is a native of Lorain County, Ohio and earned a B.A. in political science and history with a minor in economics from Malone University in Canton, Ohio.

Andrews offers deep experience on Capitol Hill, having most recently served as senior advisor and communications director to Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) and senior advisor on his 2022 Senate campaign. She previously led press operations as communications director on the House Judiciary Committee and for former U.S. Representative Doug Collins (R-Ga.) while he served in House Republican leadership. Prior to that, Andrews helped run public relations for a leading think tank in the Middle East.

Dunn brings decades of experience as a lawyer and public servant focused on technology, public utility, workforce and a variety of legislative issues. He has held roles with the Office of Chief Legal Counsel to the Ohio Governor, the Ohio Senate Judiciary Committee, the Ohio Department of Administrative Services and the Ohio Senate Majority Caucus.

Ward joins the team from Rep. Nathaniel Moran’s (R-Texas) office, where she was deputy chief of staff and legislative director. Formerly, Ward served as legislative director for Rep. Mike Turner (R-Ohio). She is an alumna of the University of Dayton and George Washington University Law School.

Tomko comes to Husted’s office from serving as Rep. Troy Balderson’s (R-Ohio) director of operations. A native of Solon, Ohio, Tomko graduated from the Ohio State University and has built her career on Capitol Hill.

In addition to appointing his leadership aides, Husted has put in place dedicated staff who prioritize customer service as they work on behalf of Ohioans.
