Congressionally directed spending
U.S. Senators can submit a limited number of qualified projects in their state to the Senate Appropriations Committee for consideration to earn targeted federal funds.
To request congressionally directed spending for FY 2026, please fill out this FY26 congressional directed spending application form.
All applications are due by 6:00 p.m. on April 18, 2025. Please email appropriations@husted.senate.gov with any questions. Late requests will not be considered. Please be aware that deadlines may be extended or shortened without notice.
Requests must be submitted to the senator’s office via the above form before they can be considered for congressionally directed spending. Please note that, to be complete, an application must include four letters of support from Ohioans or Ohio organizations. These letters should show evidence of community support and engagement for the project. These letters are uploaded through the “Complete checklist” portion of your application.
As a reminder, this application form is for FY2026 congressionally directed spending projects only, and not for FY26 programmatic or report language appropriations requests. If you wish to submit a programmatic appropriations request, please use the separate FY26 appropriations programmatic request form. Please note that this form has a sperate deadline than CDS requests.
